I was born in Italy, daughter of a Danish father and a Spanish mother, and I trained while moving between different countries. My multicultural background and my education abroad have given me a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities involved in adapting to a new culture.
Moving to a new country can be an exciting and enriching experience, but at the same time it can also feel lonely, scary, and at times overwhelming: being far from friends and loved ones, feeling like a “fish out of water”, realising that your new life is not what you had imagined, and not knowing what the future will bring… All of this can have a significant impact on mental health and relationships.
I graduated in Psychology from the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, with an experimental thesis on the relationship between childhood stress and suicidal behaviour in depressive disorder. During this time, I worked with mood disorders and joined the research laboratory in psychobiology and neuroscience, focusing particularly on the effectiveness of chronotherapy applied to sleep disorders and depression.
My interest in migration phenomena led me to spend long periods of training and work abroad, in London, Barcelona and Latin America. Upon my return, I worked at Niguarda Ca’ Granda Hospital and in the Psychiatric Diagnosis and Treatment Service (SPDC), supporting hospitalised adolescents in the acute phase.
In recent years, I have also specialised in treating eating disorders within the Clinical Nutrition Department of Niguarda Ca’ Granda Hospital.
In London, I obtained certifications in DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy), MBT (Mentalization-Based Therapy), and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
I offer psychotherapy sessions in English, Italian, and Spanish for adolescents and adults.
